I have a confession to make. This is actually my third attempt to put together these overnight oats for my blog. The first two times I prepared them, left them to soak in the fridge, and in the morning I couldn’t resist eating them before having the chance to photograph them! True story. This time I prepared 2 pots so I could have one whilst photographing the other!
It’s quite common for me to have insanely early call times, especially when shooting TV commercials. The other week my call time was 2 am, as the location we were filming in was a few hours away, and the production wanted to shoot at sunrise. As much as I love cooking, it’s not gonna happen at that time of the day. I made these overnight oats in a small tupperware box and it was the perfect little on-the-go breakfast. I was half asleep, looking dishevelled in the early hours of the morning in the back of a small van. But I had an amazing pot of nutty, chocolatey strawberry oats with me. So life was awesome.
- Half a cup of oats (I used quick oats)
- 5 strawberries
- 2 dates finely chopped
- ¾ cup almond milk
- ¼ cup chopped hazelnuts
- 1 tsp cacao powder
- Topping: extra strawberries & hazelnuts
- Just mix all the ingredients and cover. Leave to soak in the fridge overnight!
- Do a happy dance in the morning.
